A New Chapter for Shekinah’s Mi-Kis

February 22, 2025

After 24 beautiful years with the beloved Mi-Ki breed, we are stepping into a new chapter—one marked not by an ending, but by a passing of the torch and the joy of continued legacy. With prayerful consideration, we’ve shifted from running Shekinah’s Mi-Kis independently to partnering closely with our dear friend and trusted guardian home, Dani Kenny.

Our Mi-Ki program began in my home, where I spent over two decades building a legacy of excellence with this beloved breed. What started as a passion soon became a deeply rooted part of our lives—raising, refining, and protecting the integrity of our lines. After walking through a season of health challenges, I stepped back from the day-to-day demands. But through the faithful support of Dani, the program continues with the same heart and standard it was founded on.

Dani lives less than 20 minutes away, and together we now co-breed with great care. The puppies are raised in her home as loved companions, and select litters will still be raised here with us. I remain closely involved—overseeing the program, assisting in deliveries, and placing each puppy in the right home with the same intentional care we’ve always given.

Dani will be continuing select lines under her kennel name, Shaddai Mi-Kis, and together we are building something new: Shekinah & Shaddai Mi-Kis—a co-owned line that honors the foundation we’ve built and carries it forward with excellence and care. We remain fully involved, mentoring and supporting Dani as she steps into this calling.

You’ll find available puppy and retiring adult updates at the bottom of this page. The heart of Shekinah continues to beat in every pup we raise together.

Thank you for the love and support you’ve shown over the years. This journey has been a profound blessing, and we are so grateful for every family who has joined ours through one of our dogs. 🩷

Our parents and lineage trace back to Champion and International Champion bloodlines, with patellar, cardiac, and CERF health clearances documented through up to six generations. Since 2001, we’ve used DNA-VIP for proof of parentage on every litter, and our Mi-Kis are from original (pure) Mi-Ki lines. We utilize Wisdom Panel and Embark for comprehensive genetic testing.

Due to COVID and the needs of our special needs children, we no longer open our home to the public.

We are intentional about where our puppies are placed, always seeking homes that align with the values and care our program was built on. Most of our puppies are placed as cherished companions, and we ask for a signed spay/neuter agreement to honor their wellbeing. On rare occasions, breeding rights may be considered—but only for those we know personally and trust to carry the same heart and integrity we hold dear.

This is not a business transaction—it’s a heartfelt connection. We place each puppy with great care, selecting homes that are not only well-suited, but that value ongoing relationship. We are here for you for the life of your Shekinah Mi-Ki.

If you’re interested in welcoming a Shekinah or Shekinah & Shaddai Mi-Ki into your home, we’d love to connect with you. We keep a small waitlist and match each puppy carefully based on temperament, lifestyle, and what we feel is the best fit for both the puppy and the family.

To begin the process, please reach out through our contact page and share a bit about yourself. We’ll guide you through the next steps and keep you updated on upcoming litters and availability.

Our hearts are fully in this, and we look forward to walking with you on the journey to finding your perfect Mi-Ki companion.

Ohana welcomed a beautiful litter on March 12th, 2025—two girls and one boy—sired by Zion.
This was the first litter born under the care of Dani, All of these babies have homes. Teddy(middle puppy) stayed with us and will be the next Shekinah Daddy in our pack.

Our puppies are placed in approved homes only.  Please see our approval questionnaire page and email the completed questions to us.

Occasionally we will have older or retiring Mi-Kis available for less than our puppy price, inquire with us if you’re looking for an older Mi-Ki. Even if we do not have any available we may know of a reputable breeder that does.

We no longer will hold any of our puppies without a deposit. If you are seriously interested in one of our puppies we will take a $500 NON REFUNDABLE  hold deposit. If you change  your mind or cannot fulfill your purchase for any reason your deposit is transferred to the next available pet quality puppy of the same sex.

We offer a 1 year health guarantee. All of our litters come from generations of DNA-VIP parentage verified and  Patellar, Heart and CERF cleared lines. Our litters are registered with The American Mi-Ki Registry Association, AMRA and/or UKC

We are also members in good standing with The American Mi-Ki Club, AMC

We hold registration until proof from your veterinarian is sent to us that you have spayed/neutered your Shekinah Mi-Ki.
